Literacy Development
Hands-on trainings to help teachers improve how they teach young children.
Literacy development is one of our core focus areas at Tangu Utoto. Through this program, we are committed to improving reading and writing skills among young learners using the Jolly Phonics approach — a child-centered and engaging method of teaching literacy.
We currently work with six pilot schools, where we train teachers on how to effectively implement the Jolly Phonics methodology in their classrooms.
Program Goal
Our ultimate goal is to ensure that children not only learn to read, but also comprehend and enjoy what they read, building a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
To support this, we provide each school with a complete Jolly Phonics kit to guide teachers in lesson delivery. Additionally, we help create conducive learning environments, especially in nursery sections, by supplying essential materials such as chairs and tables.
Our dedicated field team works closely with teachers on-site, offering continuous support and monitoring progress to ensure our literacy goals are met effectively.
Looking ahead, we are excited to expand this initiative to more schools, reaching even more children with the gift of literacy.
