Teacher Training
Teacher Training
Our trainings focus on using play to support learning, making low-cost teaching materials, planning lessons, and teaching reading and writing skills.
Hands-on trainings to help teachers improve how they teach young children.
At Tangu Utoto Foundation, we recognize that the quality of education begins with the teacher. That’s why we are committed to building the capacity of Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers, particularly those working in under-resourced and less-funded schools.
Our Teacher Training Program is designed to equip educators with the skills, knowledge, and tools needed to deliver high-quality, child-centered learning experiences. We focus on modern, evidence-based approaches that foster both cognitive and emotional development in young learners.
Program Goal
To elevate the standard of early childhood education in rural and underserved communities by empowering teachers to become confident, compassionate, and effective educators.
Key Features of the Program
- Targeted Training: We work with teachers from our partner schools, many of whom have limited access to professional development opportunities.
- Regular Sessions: Trainings are held three times a year during school holidays (April, August, and December) to ensure maximum participation without interrupting classroom learning.
- Hands-On Learning: Sessions are interactive and practical, covering topics such as:
- Child development and psychology
- Jolly Phonics and literacy instruction
- Classroom management and inclusive education
- Creative and play-based learning methods
- Parent engagement and community involvement
- Ongoing Support: Beyond the workshops, our field team continues to mentor and support teachers in their classrooms, helping them apply what they’ve learned and improve their teaching practice.
